Round headed boys, children, cats and hell are recurrent themes for Neil Farber (1975), a young Canadian artist, whose works have been shown internationally at prestigious galleries such as Clementine Gallery, New York, Richard Heller Gallery, Santa Monica and Alice Day Gallery, Brussels.

Hey Kid is a collection of unseen drawings from his widely known series of adult-child encounters, each beginning with ''Hey kid''. Farber explodes illustration outwards, creating a spiralling coil of tragicomic absurdity and gesture, but still managing to keep a touch of poetic sensibility.

Farber has also been one of the six founders of The Royal Art Lodge, the Canadian collaborative drawings and paintings collective established in 1996. Current members also count Michael Dumontier and Marcel Dzama, with whom Farber periodically takes time out of his solo art career to paint and draw together.
