With a surreal overtone that delves into the mystery of state of mind, Box of Regret depicts a man’s journey through a landscape with disjointed languages and unsettled dreams. Borrowing symbolic elements from classical Chinese woodblock prints and mixing them with created imagery. Box of Regret is to be seen as a collage of hieroglyphic writing that combines the ancient and the new.

Born and grew up in Beijing, China, Danielle Ye works in drawing, experimental animation and video. Her work has been exhibited internationally including: the Museum of Modern Art, New York (MOMA) and Centre Pompidou, Paris, and among film festivals. She lives and works in Beijing and Los Angeles.
