"At night, when everyone is asleep, monsters and chimeras arise. Among them, I seek this unique form of solitude I need to put my mask down. I shapeshift and become a creature made of glass, in search of clarity with maybe, a very special form of exaltation. In my lonely rêverie, the city appears inhabited by sphinxes, asking riddles in a fluorescent half-smile and giant Golems dance for me, united in an almost inert ballet." Gaia Vincensini

Born in 1992, Gaia Vincensini lives and works between Geneva and Paris. As a multimedia artist, she uses drawing, printmaking, engraving, textile and video. Inspired by business marketing that she observes on a daily basis, she appropriates and deflects their aesthetics by inserting it into an autobiographical system. Through a practice that questions and exploits languages of craftsmanship and design, Gaia thinks about issues such as the individual within the community, identity, emancipation, corruption of symbols, and contemporary cultural and material living conditions.
