Shoboshobo aka Mehdi Hercberg is a Paris based artist. His work involves projects including illustration, art, clothes, music and printed editions. His graphic work is mainly focused on monsters and creatures that are strange, pop, frightening and sometimes cute. All good reasons to generate interests for the young artists running the Gallery 126 in which Quentin Chambry is involved and invite Shoboshobo as their senpai. It’s February 2016 and Mehdi is therefore welcomed during a week for his residency at the 126 house in Rennes, home of the exhibition space located in the garage. It’s in this favorable environnement for meetings and exchanges that Quentin has been developing his practice, using a wide range of media including graffiti, painting, drawing, ceramic and publishing.

From a break while working on his ongoing exhibition, Mehdi proposed to Quentin to do fun drawing together. They both confronted their respective lines and projections by completing the drafts started and prepared by one for the other. The work thus initiated during this short time of cohabitation continued by mail for a few weeks, finishing to build this collection of collaborative drawings.
