Glamour Banner is a single large drawing made by the Los Angeles-based chapter of Sumi Ink Club, broken into a series of actual-size details. These densely knit, topsy turvy pages are an example of what occurs during Sumi Ink Club's weekly public gatherings where anything can happen and anyone can join in!

Organized by Sarah Ra Ra and Luke Fischbeck, Sumi Ink Club was founded in 2005. The group holds regular open meetings to execute detailed collaborative drawings using ink on paper. In each of its permutations, Sumi Ink Club uses group drawing as a means to open and fortify social interactions that bleed into everyday life. Sumi Ink Club is non-hierarchical: all ages, all humans, all styles are welcome. Each drawing is produced by many hands, through a happenstance arrangement of close friends and strangers alike.

Satellite chapters of Sumi Ink Club have held meetings around the world: Providence, Paris, Chicago, New York, Portland, Malmo, San Francisco, Tokyo, and even in Bahal, India. The most noteworthy chapter may be a group of 8 year olds who banded together in Brooklyn, NY to hold independent sumi ink club meetings with sharpee markers (they found the ink too messy). Sumi Ink Club has had solo exhibitions at SiteLA (Los Angeles), Hope Gallery (Los Angeles), Thanky (Richmond), and Krets (Malmo).
